Welcome From Your Hosts
Welcome to our cozy cottage escape! We're Ronny and Cassy, your hosts, and we're so excited to have you here. We both work as teachers in the GTA, but when we're not shaping young minds, we love spending our time here at the cottage. It's our little slice of heaven, where we can relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature.
We've put a lot of love and care into making this cottage a comfortable and welcoming space, and we hope you'll feel right at home during your stay. Our goal is to make your getaway as stress-free as possible. We're always happy to offer recommendations for local activities and attractions, so don't hesitate to ask if you need anything at all to ensure you have a 5-star stay!
Please Note: If you find anything not to your satisfaction or notice any damaged or broken items, please inform us within the first 24 hours of arriving at the property so we can resolve it for you.

House Rules
Lakeside & Cabin Safety Protocol
Boating & Lake Safety
- Life Jackets are Mandatory: Transport Canada-approved life jackets (PFDs) are situated in our exterior kit. It is the law and an absolute safety necessity for everyone to wear a properly tailored life jacket while on the open water.
- Daylight Boundaries Only: Watercraft are exclusively cleared for daytime usage. No paddling after sunset or prior to sunrise—motorized boats cannot see you in the pitch-black environment.
- Sober Operations: Do not use watercraft under the influence of alcohol or cannabis. Save the drinks for relaxing on the dock safely after all boating is finished.
- Weather Management: If whitecaps form across the lake waves or thunder rolls into the valley, pull all boats safely to shore.
- Lock Down Gear: Always return boats securely to their storage racks and snap down the SUP locks when finished to prevent gusts of wind from drifting them away.
Campfire & Stove Operations
- Constant Presence: An adult (18+) must sit directly with a burning campfire or stove until the logs are completely burned out.
- The Drown & Stir Rule: Never leave a fire to slowly smolder out. Deluge the coals with lake water, churn up the embers thoroughly with an iron poker or branch, and flood it a second time. It must be cold to the touch before sleeping.
- Wind Variables: If high winds blow sparks or embers sideways toward nearby brush lines, extinguish the fire completely.
- Buffer Space: Maintain a 3-foot clearance zone around the fire pit ring for chairs and blankets. Running or horseplay around the burning area is strictly prohibited.
Wilderness Elements
- Rustic Footing: Cottage spaces are rustic. Watch out for variable sloping ground, exposed tree roots, and damp, mossy stone shorelines. Please wear solid outdoor footwear.
- Pet Supervision: Keep pets under close watch. Do not permit them to roam onto neighboring properties, chase local wildlife, or swim out past safe visibility thresholds.
- Secure Animal Trash: To protect local black bears, raccoons, and rodents, place all outdoor refuse containers directly inside our specialized Animal-Stopper protective bins. Never leave foodstuffs sitting on the open balcony decks.
Indoor Living Guide
🎬 Rock Room Projector
Gently ease down the projector screen with the attached cord until the structural black border appears at the header. Use the primary Apple TV remote to switch on the grid. If it delays past 10 seconds, activate the system with the dedicated projector controller. The soundbar input must highlight OPT (Optical). Open the Plex app to stream our host entertainment library.
🪵 Traditional Wood Stove
Only burn seasoned, fully dried firewood logs. You must verify that the chimney flue/damper is pulled completely open prior to striking matches, or the living room will fill with smoke instantly. Do not use lighter fluid, paper wraps, or chemical accelerants—use the provided wood kindling and fire-starter blocks. Keep all furniture 3 feet back. Please leave ash removal to our professional cleanup staff.
🚰 Water System & Safety
All running water entering the cabin runs through an advanced sediment filter array coupled with a professional UV sterilization module, making it completely safe to consume. For premium-tier drinking and cooking water, utilize the secondary small chrome faucet located on the left side of the main kitchen sink, which routes water through an 8-stage reverse osmosis filter.
🍳 Kitchen Appliance Guide
Oven: Please retain the large baking pan sheet permanently at the baseline base to capture grease and function as a drip tray.
Stove Top: If touch screens do not respond, confirm your induction pan is sitting square on the zone. Power grid flickers can freeze the touch electronics; reset the stove by walking to the triangular wood cabinet near the bathroom and switching the main stove breaker switch off for 5 minutes, then back on.
🍽️ Dishwasher Settings
Engage the power on the right section (Button 2). Add one automated cleaning pod from the stock under the sink. Firmly press and hold down the principal Start key for 2 full seconds to lock in and run the loop (Button 3).
📦 Utility & Storage Drawers
Coffee Table Compartments: USB cords, clip-on hiking lights, heavy extension line reels, electronic flame lighters, waterproof outdoor Bluetooth speakers, and electric mattress/toy air pumps.
Entertainment Center: Board games, cards, chess layouts, fine art acrylic paints, brushes, and raw canvas frames.
Closet Reserves: Graco Pack n' Play, infant safety play mat, Queen-sized tri-fold backup mattress, air fans, utility vacuums, and spot carpet cleaners.
Outdoor Living Guide
Biological Mosquito Dunk System
You will notice distinct buckets of standing water deployed across the property lines. These are treated with organic Mosquito Dunks—small beige donut rings that dissolve gradually in water. They emit a target-specific bacterium that naturally halts mosquito larvae growth. They are completely certified for watering troughs and are 100% harmless to drinking pets, birds, regional wildlife, foliage, lake fish, and helpful frogs or turtles.
Watercraft Fleet Fleet
- 2x Single-Person Kayak Frameworks
- 1x Two-Person Wood-Trim Canoe
- 1x Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP)
- 5x Adult Life Jackets (Variable sizing metrics)
- 2x Specialized Canine Life Jackets (1 Medium, 1 Large size)
- Pre-hung rope hammocks are securely tensioned directly near the lake shoreline.
Balcony Cushion Management
All exterior fabric cushions are stored inside the weatherproof deck box on the balcony deck. Kindly return them to the box immediately after use to protect them from surprise rain showers or heavy morning dew drops.
